What to do when you're prompted to pick “Debit" or "Credit”?  Try to think of it this way – if you want cash back, choose Debit and use your Personal Identification Number (PIN).  Sign for all other transactions.  Not all merchants want you to do this because it benefits you and Family 1 - not the merchant.  So, as long as you have a choice, sign for everything unless you need cash back.

Don’t let hitting the “Credit” button worry you.  This is not a charge card ; the VISA® emblem simply means that the card is accepted anywhere VISA® is accepted.  The “withdrawal” will always come out of your checking account.
